We believe every student deserves the chance to grow into who they're capable of becoming.

Our Story

TA Educational Consultants was founded on a simple belief: that knowledge should be shared for the enrichment of everyone's life, and that every student deserves real guidance navigating the road to higher education — no matter where they start from.

Tristan Ide, the son of an immigrant family, was homeschooled growing up — an experience that taught him the value of independent study across subjects from philosophy to science, and gave him a firsthand look at just how disorienting the transition into higher education can be. A National Merit Scholar with a perfect SAT score, Tristan went on to earn a full scholarship to the University of Chicago through the Bill & Melinda Gates and Jack Kent Cooke Foundations, graduating with Research Honors in Biology, specializing in Cancer Biology, in just three years.

After spending over half a decade guiding students and executives alike — including time spent working directly with the College Board on the redesign of the SAT — we built TA Educational Consultants around a single vision: to give every student the guidance we wish we'd had, and the confidence to navigate the road ahead.

We know firsthand how opaque standardized testing, university research, scholarship applications, and program-specific essays can feel from the outside. We believe that knowledge should be shared for the enrichment of everyone's life.
